Jewelry Care Guide

Jewelry Care Guide for 925 Sterling Silver, 18K/14K Gold-Plated Jewelry & Cubic Zirconia Stones

Our pieces are crafted from high-quality 925 sterling silver, sometimes adorned with a refined 18K or 14K gold plating, and often set with carefully selected cubic zirconia stones for a brilliant, diamond-like sparkle. With the right care, your jewelry will keep its beauty for years to come.

1. When to Wear, Less is More

  • Avoid water: Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising. Water, chlorine, and salt can dull both the metal and the stones.
  • Keep away from chemicals: Perfume, lotions, sunscreen, self-tanner and hairspray can cloud the stones and weaken gold plating.
  • Handle with care: Knocked or dropped jewelry can loosen stones from their settings.

2. Store Like a Treasure

  • Store separately: Keep each piece in its own pouch or lined box to prevent scratching both the metal and the stones.
  • Dry environment: Humidity can tarnish silver and cause dirt to cling to stones.
  • Away from sunlight: Direct sunlight over time can affect the brilliance of CZ stones.

3. Gentle Cleaning

Sterling Silver & Gold-Plated Pieces

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after each wear.
  • Use a silver polishing cloth only on unplated silver.
  • Avoid abrasive materials and chemical cleaners on plated jewelry.

Cubic Zirconia Stones

  • Regular care: Oils from your skin, lotions, and everyday dust can reduce sparkle.
  • Cleaning method:
    1. Mix lukewarm water with a few drops of mild dish soap.
    2. Dip a soft-bristled brush (like a baby toothbrush) into the solution.
    3. Gently clean around the stone and in the setting.
    4. Rinse with clean water and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
  • Avoid steam cleaners and ultrasonic cleaners for plated jewelry — they can loosen stones and damage the plating.

4. Know Your Materials

  • Sterling Silver: 92.5% pure silver blended with copper for durability; may tarnish naturally over time.
  • Gold Plating: A thin layer of 14K or 18K gold over sterling silver; offers a golden finish but is sensitive to abrasion.
  • Cubic Zirconia: A durable, lab-created stone with high brilliance; while harder than most gems, it can scratch or lose shine if not cleaned regularly.

5. Extra Tips for Lasting Sparkle

  • Put jewelry on last when getting ready and take it off first when winding down.
  • Avoid wearing CZ pieces during heavy physical activity to prevent loosening.

✨ Treat your jewelry like fine art — the more care you give, the longer it will shine.
